These dogs have been employed by humans for ages to hunt for food as well as for sports. The dogs either have good sense of smell or good eyesight to hunt down the animals. The Bloodhound is a true representative of this group. Other dogs are the Daschund, Bravarian Mountain Hound and others.
The Utility Group
These dogs also started out as working dogs but some of the work no longer existed and they are now more used as pets. Chow Chow, Dalmatian and Boston Terrier fall under this group.
The Toy Group
Size matters as they say and in the case of this group it’s the small size that matters. These dogs are cute and cuddly and being small are easier to maintain. The Chihuahua falls under this group, also the Pug and of course the Pekingese.
The Terrier Group
These ar very energetic small dogs who can be very good diggers. Amount the dogs in this group are the Bull Terrier, Irish Terrier and Parson Russel Terrier.
The Herding Group
Employed by man for hundreds years to watch after his animal properties like cattle and sheep. These ar intelligent and sturdy dogs. Representative of this group is the Australian Cattle Dog, Border Collie, and the pop German Shepherd.
The Sporting Group
These dogs either ruck the game towards the hunters or point the way to the game. They ar lovable dogs as well. Examples of these dogs are the American Water Spaniel, the Cocker Spaniel and the Golden Retriever.
